Description
Silently wandering a city, wind blown,
Merely existing and completely alone,
Week by week, the outlook bleak,
When will I ever feel home?
Stranded in Fort Lauderdale, just a short car ride from the party city of Miami, I find that you don't have to go far for a good time. Yet even in all the bars and clubs I still sit alone in the corner. I wonder what the cute girl dancing by herself would say if I asked to buy her a drink, but can't move from my stool to even ask her name. I'm bound by fear, and my own cursed shyness, left waiting for someone to startle me with a similair invitation. Hours pass by hours, and yet I'm not approached. The club closes, and people fade out into the street. I hang behind at a loss for words at the passing of the night. Another week gone by, another lonely guy.....is there nothing else to do?

Stand up and walk forwards and offer a hand, everything just follows on from there. Excellent words

This is very well written. It tells of a story, and it is not long, yet details abound. I enjoyed the read. Now for a bit of advice as to the dilemma I am assuming it is you that faces such from the story above. From reading, I think that, those types of places just are not your thing, and do not come off as such a good time as others may feel. Yet since you are attending It is never good to buy drinks to meet the lady of your desire, for alcohol affects the mind in such a way, it is difficult to determine from the individual your feeding the booze to what is truth and what is fantasy or fabrication, thus a better way may very well be as I see you enjoy taking pictures. Therefore, ask permission to take a picture of the young lady of your interest, as well as tell her you will get her a copy, thus prompting you to ask for her number. For you must have her number in order to get her picture to her. So you get her number You may leave alone, yet it does not mean you will be alone for always, thus a real life journey beginsas a bonus to meeting again later, you both will be sober.

Well done. I'm reminded of the wise saying my dear, late father often told me, "You can't catch fish if you don't throw your line in the water". WINK.
