Description

After enjoying the vista's on the Augstbordhorn it's time to go down and return to the valley. Unfortunately I choose an unmarked track that soon was no track anymore. After descending over large boulders I was glad to follow some locals who apparently knew the way here. When I found these flowers I had to shoot them fast - wrong! wrong! wrong! The composition was bad, so I cropped it. I did not determine it well (I did not want to lose those guys in front of me), and at home I had a hard time finding out what species this might be. Without leaves it is difficult, but I think it is the alpine rock-jasmine (Androsace alpina), a tough flower that can live on heights of more than 4000 meters (12000 ft)! This capture is the last shot of the Augstbordhorn-series. I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you for your wonderful comments, additions to favorites, rankings and votes; they told me some shots had something special and it encourages me to post more of shots of Switzerland! Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 80 mm and cropped) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

I know that feeling of losing that trail and trying to find it again. Even with a compass it can be difficult. I'm glad some locals was there to follow. Whew! What a feeling. Pretty flowers to reward you of your hike. Excellent hike series. Aloha

I am interested in the alpine flora. Think what whe've got here is some kind of Androsace.. Despite the speed you had to work with a fine shot.
