These look great, Hankster! Good Attention to Detail. Let's just hope that people that buy these in the future can do justice to all your hard work. I have really thought that your Victory model was sorely abused, in all sorts of unrealistic renders. People just haven't understood the basics of rendering your models in a realistic way. One small crit: from what I have seen and studied of the ironclads and steam warships of the american Civil War, the bolts on the 'clads seem to be a little too big. Considering that these vessels were close to a couple hundred feet long, the bolts would appear to be about a foot wide, when in reality they were about two inches wide. Oh, and remember, the USS Monitor, when she sank, came to rest upside down, with the turret under the hull. Which is how the turret was raised a couple of years ago, when salvaged. Other than that, these are really exceptional meshes. God, I hope people will do justice to them......

I like your image of the Monitor on the ocean bottom. Most people don't know that this boat sank in a storm. Maybe redo it with some recovery divers?

I worked in the monitor turret last year. Too many stories. Did remove a nut myself (Xbeam). It was about 4" across. Threads were pristine. Treated with tallow, I think. The guns were updide down and inscribed by founders after its 1st battle. Took impressions of them. Impact damage on the inside is shocking. 3" thick "sleeves" were originally installed to cover the plate(8X1") nuts (to protect crew from shrapnel)and one had imploded a good 12" in one spot. They worked! Also 2 scars: Huge dents from the 1st test fires...did not have recoilers attached properly...lol. Guess gunnery sarg got fired after that. 2 officers recovered next to cannons. Guess I'm a customer,,,; )

I feel the bolts on the Monitor turret are about the correct size, there a number of photo references on the internet that show how big those are in relation to the turret. The rest of the bolts are probably too big, but I need some artistic license there as the ship is pretty plain looking as it is ;)
