Description

This beautiful flower came from the tree in my front yard. It is a variety of southern magnolia that has been bred to withstand the colder temperatures of more northern climes. The scent from these flowers is a wonderful brew of sweet and exotic frangrances...very heady. One of my favorite flowers for shape and form.

Absolutely beautiful! I love the setting you put it in and you found the perfect bloom. I also have a tree in my front yard....I love it! Great presentation and color choice. Excellent work! :)

Just a note...there is no postwork to this image other than adding a border and adjusting color, sharpness, etc.. This flower was photographed on silver mylar with a blue paper backround. The backround is reflected in the mylar as well as the Magnolia flower. You can see the line where the mylar meets the paper backround if you look closely. It is about 1/2 way up the flower. It looks like a horizon line. The lighting was natural lighting from an overhead skylight with a reflector bouncing some of the light back into the center of the flower. All done in camera.
