Description

Composition and reflection test before the full radiosity render. Looks like my transparency and my refraction settings could use more work too. I plan to try caustics settings on this as well. Inspired by some early work of sms. Thank you very much for taking time to drop by and look.

Well that's really brave of you to go Caustic's as well...how much time do you say you have for a render? I think you might need something in the background to show the transparency FX, just a suggestion, as this is a WIP. Very kool work looking forward to more!!!Cheer's

Excuse me for thinking that they would be excellent shape for a bullet - or artilery round.

Jifs got a point moe. With no real BG to reflect/refract, its gonna make setting up your transparency hard. May I recommend you experiment with using a chequered floor to get your settings right first before doing you fianl render against plain. Pah... this is moe, why am I giving him tips??? Like he needs them.

Transparency and refraction dont work the best unless you include an air layer in the glass. Lightwave will not refract light correctly just by applying glass settings to a surface. An air layer is necessary to bend the light coming in as well as out. There are plugins that will give good results. Caustics will also rely on this.

Thanks for the tip, odeone... I do have a "glass-ext" layer and a "glass-int" layer with varying index of refraction settings and different values for reflection and transparency. Ext=1.00 Int=1.335. :o)

I believe this is the simplest model i've ever seen you work with moe, what you up to? you gonna make sky scrapers with reflective glass windows?? there's gotta be something else behind this I just know it! Good render though, very cool, I stared at it for awhile because it almost looks like a photo with soft focus, the coloring is cool too, reminds me of something out of the late 70's :).

Looks good , i would have chosen a less soft look tho, glass is cold by nature..on the other hand.. i see the warm glow in the eyes of some girls looking at "glass containments". Well maybe the wrong subject for me...there are to sorts of glasses in my life..the ones filled with beer and the useless empty ones..lol Fine work

Looks like 3 gorgeous vases painted in water colors IMHO. Very lovely colors, shadowing 'n' reflections. V (:
