Description

This is DM again. Eliana head morph and Denise texture - just amazing in my opinion. Can someone perhaps help me out. Why does it SEEM to me - have not had time for direct test - that setting up that crazy HDRI city scene (and blocking out the background just using it for the light map) makes for a better skin tone rendering than just setting GI or GR, killing all the haze and having at it. I am a bit stunned by the results here of the HDRI map setup - that particular one, the city scene. Perhaps someone can explaine it. I am thinking it might be the light color and the subtle variations in light direction that map uses? If IBL thing is truly the best way to light skin tones, where can we get more true HDRI maps to use? Maybe someone can fire up Photoshop and generate some color maps that we can use for IBL with GI or as in this case GR to bring out the most possible detail in a Poser texture? Just a thought and thank you.

Perfect realism, looks like a photo in everey detail! You can render HDRI maps with VUE5I, or go outside and make photos with an stative with differnt shuttertimes and put them as HDRI tigether in PSCs2. http://www.realtexture.de/hdri1.htm is a source for commercial HDRIs ~Uwe

HDRI goes beyond what a puter normally can do. Simply said: the difference between direct sunlight and the darkest shadow is much bigger in real life than on your monitor. Simply because your monitor cannot be brighter than its maximum. If you can use HDRI maps in Poser 6, you may want to visit www.debevec.org There you can also find some hdri pics. For the rest: do a google or a yahoo or whatever search engine you fancy. TW: great result!

Excellent photoreal quality here. I don't know what you're looking for exactly, but some time ago I surfed the web with Google, and found several ressources with free HDR images. And i think you're right, the variations in the light source must be the answer to the awesome renders you can make with IBL.

Awesome again. I think the light in the city.vim is one of late afternoon, hence the warm reddish colours. True that HDR images contain true lighting data from the real world, but you can't get more than what your monitor can show you anyway.

Fantastic work, one of your best. Extremely real. I'd like to see more of her, maybe give her a smile or something.

Just because someone says something, doesn't make it a rule (IBL GI). You've got a handle on this and if I were you (soon will be a clone...lol), I'd run with it.
