I haven't seen the Asteroids game cover, but this is an awesome, exciting scene. The asteroids are well modelled. I just wish more details of the space ship were visible. Otherwise, great work!

The asteroids are a spookey thing at 24000 miles and hour or more. Using them for cover in a hide and seek shoot 'em up trades reality for credubility.

Funny thing is that Asteroids stole the Buck Rogers Starfighter from the series with Gil Gerard as Buck Rogers. Nice rendition. :)
