Description

For you young whippersnappers, there was a time before remote controls, hundreds of cable channels, satellite dishes and reality shows and even color. This television predates me, but I remember well, watching shows through the grainy interference and the horizontal flipping. Being the youngest in the family, it was usually my important job to get up and adjust the antenna, or switch the channel. This is the National Model TV-7W from 1948. Notice the higher channels (there was only 2-13) had to be "fine selected". Made in AmapiPro from a photo. Wood mats by Tony Lynch.

Ah- the smell of hot tubes and the slight hum. Try explaining the phrase "wait till it warms up" to someone now. Beautiful modelling and textures. A perfect render.

"High Ho Silver and away!" With Tonto not far behind. My grandmother had a T.V. like that, we would watch the Lawence Welk show on it...I was not a fan as a kid in the early '60s, but she made great icecream! Incredible replication, wonderful memories Dave! (=
