Description

What had begun as a beautiful tour to visit the Northeast and enjoy the foliage, ended in a tragic way this past Sunday on Lake George. A tour boat named The Ethan Allan, owned and operated by the same company that owns The Adirondac, the final photo in my Home Sweet Home series, shocked everyone by tipping over and sinking in 70 feet of water with 48 people aboard. Of the 48, one was the Captain of the ship and he, a very good man, did survive. Twenty elderly passengers did not. Everyone here is still numb with shock and sadness. Most people I know have, at one time or another, taken the lovely one hour cruise on this boat. It's been here as long as I can remember and was so well maintained; for it to tip over was unthinkable. My sincerest sympathy and my prayers go to the families in Michigan, Ohio, and Canada of those injured or who died in this terrible accident. Remember to hug your loved ones... as we just never know. Thank you for taking the time to look and for any comments you wish to send anyone from the Michigan area who might happen to see this. (((hugs))) ~ maggie ~
