Description

This is a work in progress, still trying to find more detailed pictures of Mars. This is one in a series of pictures depecting the first US manned mission to the Red Planet. This shows both the mothership (Explorer1) and the lander (Freedom1). More pictures to come showing the lander entering and landing on the surface of Mars. This was created in Bryce5, all concepts for spaceships design and drawn by me except for strut frame that I downloaded from freestuff :-). Post work starfield done in Universe one by one. Hope you enjoy the effort. David...;-) PS: someone made the sugestion that I needed to work on my starfield. Well I tried using the generator in Bryce but I did not like the way that the stars looked, you could not change the size of the star themself, just the intensity. Hopes this helps...;-)

Very nice! As for detailed astronomy pictures, have you tried NASA'a "Astronomy Picture of the Day" and searchable archive? http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/archivepix.html
