Description
Anger!
Gritting teeth
grinding their way
to bleeding gums.
The world around
seems darker today
as I gaze through seething
Anger.
My mother
once again manages to stir,
boils the cauldron
till it overflows.
My parenting skills
seem to be non existant
in eyes belonging to
My mother.
My kids
tease and tempt my ire
taunt and tangle
emotions so close
to the surface.
Which buttons to push
Are the special gifts of
My kids.
My friends
Supportive and nurturing
listen with love
as I boil over
sizzle and spit.
They wait with patience
Know I'll return the favour to
My friends

Oof! A real outpouring of raw emotion. rare to see on this side of the monitor. The piece reads like a journal entry in free verse.

Wonderful written work. I don't know how 'moms' do it. I watched mine raise '9' of them.

I hope this does not come out wrong. Yet, I must admit, that is an experience I never got an opportunity to enjoy, although had I, I may very well have seen it as you see it now, more of a torment then a pleasurable gift. As strange as this might sound, it is better to have then notCherish your mother, even when you disagree with her advice, comments, opinions, and so on, for in truth, she is your mother and you are her child at least to her always and forever. This all becomes easier to understand, when your children in turn become adults, and have families of their ownSmiles My best to you and yoursThe poem was rich with emotion, thank you for sharing. P.S. Just a thought, a mothers education of raising children done by experience last for at least in some cases 18 years by law, thus imagine how hard it must be to be anything other then what she isMOM.
