Description

I could never live in Florida. No rock. I have nothing against sand... but just prefer it all glommed together by the weight of time, softly blessed by the passage of water, and caressed by the sun. This kind of sandstone is called "tafoni". It is rare, except for here in the Bay Area where we have several lovely outcroppings with curvaceous formations in all scales from intimate to overwhelming. Lingering fingertips of late afternoon sunlight on sandstone near the Pt Reyes lighthouse.
