Description

After some time the weather remains dry so I decide to take the car and go for a little drive to a place on the other side of the valley. I stop here and there to enjoy the vegetation that is growing here. To my surprise I find this bristly bellflower (Campanula cervicaria) although I'm still not sure. It looks a bit different, it should not bloom here, but... I have no clue what else it might be. It seems just a pretty wild place here with lots of others wildflowers so I'm uncertain about this species. One thing is sure, I can enjoy the find of a new flower! :) Time to return to the car, it starts to rain again. This flower is the last of the series 'clouds and rain'. Tomorrow a new hike! Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 70 mm and cropped) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

Jerry Quarry was a "Great White Hope" from Bellflower. My brother-in-law and his father and brothers tried to imitate his rough style in bars in that city. The Rackets can appear anywhere although Loren Norton, the criminal justice teacher, assured me that it was more likely the Carbonari (sons and daughters of the founder) than authentic Sicilian Mafia in California. Good excuse! This alibi exists in neutral Switzerland.

It also amazes me that I can usually find something blooming if I look hard enough, even in the dead of winter. Wonderful color and texture.

Thank you for sharing your series with all of us. Perhaps this lovely flower was your "pot of gold" at the end of the rainbow.

I like how the flower's detailed bristles almost outline, bring forward and seperate it from the busy richly colored background. I wonder what your next series will be...
