Description

We went to Sherwood Forest yesterday in an attempt to capture autumn here in England. The part of Sherwood that we live close to has a lot of oaks (including the big old one where Robin Hood according to the legend gathered his men) and we hoped to get some really colourful photo's. But autumn seems to have failed this year, at least in Sherwood. There were a few oaks where the leaves had gone orange/yellow, but other than that it was mostly the birch that was showing off a cascade of colour. However, there were lots of mushrooms and I spent a fair amount crawling on the groundfloor among leaves and worms. That's how I found this cutie. I didn't see the tiny mushroom beside it until I came back home and had the photo onscreen. Thanks for all your earlier comments :D
