As an undercover policewoman, operating in levels 31-45 of StarPort Stanley, Patricia Knecht knows the value of not standing out from the crowd. The catsuit and the collar are just about ubiquitous and no-one with a brain wanders into the upper Thirties without a raygun for self-defence. The handcuffs were always a bit tricky to explain, though, until she had the brainwave of generating a set that looked positively archaeological, nothing like police forcecuffs, but perfectly serviceable. She has enjoyed being Patricia, but soon, she knows, she will have to have yet another appearance transplant, her eighty-seventh.
