Description

This handsome Indian was one of the leaders in the Indian dancing at a Powwow I attended at the Queens Farm Museum. I had heard of the museum before and thought it was a building with historical farm implements and pictures and such. To my astonishment, there, in the middle of Queens (a part of New York City), was this 30 acre working farm with farm animals, barns and fields of growing things. What a surprise! I managed to wangle a seat on one of the bales of hay outlining the dance area and had a great vantage point for picture taking. A very satisfying day!

To me this is a legend (all my childhood is constelled by this culture) Indians are a part of my "mythology". This shot is splendid and perfect. And I agree with Cyn about this delicate desaturation. A master piece!
