Description

I have this image up in the photography Forum today. FOr Simon says - , asking anyone who wants to to share and show what they collect ! What do you collecT?? One of the many things my daughters and I like to collect is sea shells...(there is also some dry seaweed here no i dont collect that lol) . The Pacific ocean is about 45 minutes from where I live.. For three years I lived in Northern Calif near Tahoe far from the beach and had these shells to remind me. I missed the ocean terrible when I did not live near it. I have many others too a big conch shell you can hold up to year ear and hear the ocean supposedly hehe, ...gifts from the sea I think of it as.. I took this shot along time ago when I first got my nikon and it was me testing my camera out and so today I did some postwork on it and thought iI would share it today in black and white. If you have anything you collect go to the forum and share there!!. I figure hey-if you spend time collecting thing why not share them for others to see? Thanks for all your time and comments! love ya all! Big hugs ♥ ~ Kimmers!

Great contrast and composition, this looks great in b&w. I collect pennies, does that count? I've got quite a few shells as well, mostly from the Gulf of Mexico but they seem to be a lot smaller (and more broken) then these beauties are.

Oh Kimmer!! This is a beautiful photo!! The shells are just lovely and it is just perfect in black and white! I love shells too and beach sand. I have a large crystal bowl on my coffeetable that has layers of sand from beaches all over and a few little shells in it too! Awesome POV!! V :-)

Lots of people collect - postage stamps, coins, whatever. Some collect rocks, and that's nice. But seashells are really special. Great photo!

What a lovely stilllife - I just adore shells - who can resist their beauty. LJ and I collect hearts - in pictures - ceramics - little heart boxes- you name it - we've got all kinds of heart objects. My wedding ring is even in the shape of a heart. And since we moved into our new home in the mtns- the previous owner collected semi precious stones - they were literally thrown all over the side of a hill on our land -I didn't even know they were their until the snows melted in the spring. I took them, one by one, and made a lovely rock garden on the side of our house. :o) CC
