Description

so yeah. i believe this is my first real portrait. i have done faces in general before this, but it was from diff angles and all, this is the first time its close up and in detail. kinda alright i suppose. actually realised that this looks like one of my close friends, was a bit wierd, how did i not notice that? dunno. its pretty funny, i post an image in "people" and i get a decent amount of viewings.. then i post an image in "pin-ups" and twise as many people check it out.. i guess thats not a shocking news to anyone. but im just annoyed how many works get missed like that. oh well.. i suppose nothing can be done about that. ah.. leave a comment or a critique. and thanx for the comment on the previous images, i do appreciate them a lot. enjoy and have a great day/night max

Where you post and what you post dose have a big effect on the views you get but as you say what can you do. I like this one she is right in your face, very intence, lets see more you have not looked at someone untill you do a portrait of them.

I would have gotten rid of the slight line you drew to accentuate the right jaw. If you get rid of it, the mind will automatically discern the face from the neck. You might also add a slightly different tone to either the neck or the jaw to reach the desired effect.

Max, That's superb! Reminds me of a girl who used to sing in russian scandalous group "TATU" (a brunette). Masterful charcoal tevhnique and very expressive portrait! Waiting for more!

well.. the thing is.. russian chicks all have this "quality", it is true one of the references that i used for the eyes was from julia. but its more like my friend than julia :) heh.. thx for the comment :)
