Description

I've been MIA for some days now :( trying to help Aurora's (my kid's nanny) family... fortunately it isn't raining anymore, roads are being worked so that help can reach all those people that are very far and without home, food, clothes or water... now that everything is starting to dry, damages can be seen in a better way and it's devastating... these floods made a disaster in my country :( and the worse part is that the most harmed were the most poor people :( This week we could finaly get there to the refuge where Aurora's family was staying... the situation there is very sad :( lots of kids, babies and adults with severe dehydration and several stomach infections due to the lack of clean water... they had to drink the water from the rivers and it was highly contaminated :( the 2 years old girl was very sick and we took her to the local hospital and it was so full of people she had to wait hours or even days to get assistance... she was very weak, she's a little baby and I couldn't leave her there so we ran to the capital of Guatemala to a private hospital with her (Public Medical Assistance here is terrible... it's the worse!) she is now under Hydration and they say she has a terrible nutrition so, the treatment is long but fortunately we came just on time and she will be ok ... as some of you know, I have a 2 year old girl and it is terrible to image it could be her :( Read about it here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4322442.stm <-- Warning with pictures... these are heartbreaking :'( http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9588034/ We haven't been able to work for more than a week now and we are running to make our next product because hospitals are very expensive and savings are starting to dissappear, fortunately, there were great persons here that sent us funds to be able to help more and better to these people... Thank You!! I knew there were good people here but during this situation I was able to notice you are EXTREMELY good... God bless you and your families for all the support and help you sent! Huge Hugs, *Alejandra*
