Description

I had to be in Ridgecrest, which is a 3 hour drive from Mammoth. Unfortunatly I had to be there at 9:00 Am so I got a really early start. Fortunatly, I got some awesome early sunrise shots of the Sierras, this is a spot inbetween Bishop and Big Pine. This hole area going south to Lone pine is a pretty famous area. A lot of old westerns were shot here and newer movies to, one off the top of my head is that movie with Kevin Bacon,'Tremors', How interesting, I know! Thanks to all, for the fabulous comments on my last post 'Blown Away', Thank goodness the weather has gotten better since then.

Awesome scenery. Boy, would I love to go hiking there. Yes, I agree, tremors comes to my mind also. Especially, since they are showing them on tv right now. Aloha

I drove from Nevada on 168 from Oasis,Ca into Big Pine and it was a gorgeous drive but my brakes overheated on those tight winding mountain roads(and me driving fast). I seen beautiful scenery like this. I wished I could have went to Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, but short on time. super capture Janice
