Description

" Think for yourself and let others enjoy the privilege of doing so too." --Voltaire

Yesterday I posted a zoomed in view of a tower at Flagler college in St. Augustine and added my own "spooky" IR flair. And yes, the moon was added later, but the rest of the photo was as you saw it. Today I thought I'd give you more traditional views of the historic old college. In 1998, Flagler College celebrated the 30th anniversary of its founding. The school is located on 19 acres, the centerpiece of which is the grand Ponce de Leon Hall, a former luxury resort hotel now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This masterpiece of Spanish Renaissance architecture was the dream of Henry Morrison Flagler, industrialist, oil magnate and railroad pioneer. Since its founding in 1968, the College has spent more than $43 million dollars restoring the historic campus and adding new buildings. The campus is located in the heart of beautiful St. Augustine, just four miles from the Atlantic Ocean. The College held its first commencement in 1972. Your can read more about the college at its website. You can view the top image in IR at my website by clicking this link: (Flagler College in IR). It is amazing how it alters the entire mood of the photo. ----- Thanks for stopping by and for your spooky comments on Monday's photo, Haunted St. Augustine.

I live in a place 5kms away from a town called "Ferney Voltaire", the place where he lived... And he was a great philosophe! I've been surprised, I was far to imagine that we can see this kind of architecture in USA... Cool shots!

All three are very beautiful Kort. And your presentation is flawless. I gotta say that that tree looks so freaking cool!!! I can just imagine that one standing solo in the middle of a field...with some morning mist rising from the dewy ground....mmmmmmmm....that would be my kind of shot. Wonderful work Kort!!! Have an amazing tuesday!!!! #:O)

reminds me of an old Charles M. Schulz cartoon where one character turns around and says to another "coming to this pace is quite an education; which shouldn't be confused with actually getting an education!"
