Geez, I never thought I would see humans with the "Lemmings syndrome"...great pic Ken, if I was there, I would be outta the wind behind the lighthouse ! Cheer's :o)

The rock did not become that smooth by avoiding getting wet. Like giants and elves every wave has it's own taste for life. What does a maneater look like. It is more gray elephant than brightly striped tiger. Unless of course it was a snow leopard. With a 280mm lens on an F mount with Nikkon adapter to Tamron you can study windblown waves and the dark rollers of long fetches and major blows. You can see the planished surface. What is missing is the slope of the beach and how the wave so tall looses energy to somehow seem unable to climb. Then an offshoot comes and pulls the unwary hope back to where the expectation was.

Attracted to the danger the ocean relentlessly accepts the human offerings.... Sad thing, people do not seem to learn! Beautiful capture!

A great lighthouse shot. I'm a big fan of them and really like this one. If you could have got it without all the people around, it would have been perfect!

Love lighthouses! The contrast of the man-made structure, with it's angled shape against the smooth sea-worn rock, wonderful!!
