This picture, a genuine news image from the Veluro-Soranese Conflict, has achieved iconic status among the Soranese. After the war, artist Melody Crane followed it closely in her huge holo-sculpt, "Onward to Victory", which dominates the foyer of the Soranese Praesidium. Troops from a Velurian cruiser had boarded the Soranese starship, "Aboukir". Heavily outnumbered, the Soranese not only hurled the invaders back, but actually captured the enemy cruiser in a whirlwind counter-attack. Coming at a time when good news had been in short supply, the victory electrified the Soranese public. The "Aboukir" is maintained as a national shrine and, on the Soranese colony of Lyonesse, the cantons are all named after members of her crew.
