Description
Once we were all stem cells but now we are not so innocent. At this time I don't have much of an opinion on whether stem cell research is right or wrong. I doubt it's such a black and white issue as so many make it out to be, but what do I know. Perhaps if I ever figure out the correct use and positioning of my wireless flash I'll then be ready to better concentrate on such matters as the ethics of stem cell research. Ethics aside, I think it's some pretty fascinating stuff.
Do you have an opinion about the ethics of stem cell research?
Thanks for looking, -Peace :-)

I leave debates to those that have an opinion Jeff, and in my opinion I don't have one. The pic is one coolj001 image and it's good to see you buddy. Good luck with the wireless flash.

The future is in Your Hands Jeff...and, I too would be ignorant of this Topic....if it was not for You!!! Quote: "Embryonic Stem cells may someday help Doctors treat Ills from Paralysis to Diabetes"...I have no qualms with Ethics that may Aid Humanity...manly hugz..and a fine Pic of this Handsome Dude ;]

this is a fantastic self-portrait, Jeff!!! i am still trying to understand and figure out flash myself. as for stem cell research, i don't really know that much about it...haven't read too much about it to form an opinion about whether it's right or wrong. i did some reading once about it, but i already forgot. sigh. my memory is bad. Is that painting on the wall one of yours? I like the little bit i see of it! :)

Im not sure about embryonic stem cell.. Creating what would be a future being in a Petri dish. to then harvest the cell to give to someone else.. it ,s a bit much for me leaving religion out of it but stem cell from umbilical cord is o.k it all depend how they go aboutit.. and that is my 2 cents worth.

I guess I am sort of lost ...I do know a few things , but not enough to have any amount of long drawn out conversation on the research. I have heard of this sort of research done for cancer patients, also isn't it used in cloning ? Well I hope you understand it, I know my brother would,,,LOL he is a nerosurgon :) Excellent shot of yourself !!~*****~!!

Personally I think the debate is nothing more than a political volleyball. Scientists have no real evidence that fetal stem cells are 100% better for research than non-fetal stem cells. In fact scientists have been making great strides with nonfetal stems in that they can replicate the fetal state of the cell in the lab and use it to enchance other mature stem cells, in a process that refreshes them much like true embryonic stems. So I think we need to work with what we have and use the research for good and not bad. Another thing that irritates me about the debate is that this so called ban on stem cells is only for institutions that wish to study the cells with federal funding. The Gov't will only sponsor research on non-fetal stem research whereas any privately funded research can be done with fetal or non fetal stems. Most people seem to be overlooking this aspect of the debate.
