Shades of Grey I?m sitting here again In my window sill Thinking of the things That in my heart I feel For days now I have been So quiet in myself Mulling in my mind The way life impacts self Once upon a time So young and just nieve I thought things were so simple The world according to me Relationships I made Were simple and concrete And as I reflect now Black and white they seemed As the years wore on And heartache struck my life The mist closed in on me And clouded black and white And now it seems that life Is full of grey in shades I guess I never realized That even sure things change How can you love someone But let them walk away Smile at someone new With your heart so far away So many different loves I never realized The gray that swirls within In every persons eyes Now if you?re like I was You just won?t understand These next things that I say And judge me out of hand But I really believe That love can hold no bounds Each love is so pure Only once to be found No matter how it comes Or if it?s right or wrong It?s special just that once And remains once it?s gone And even as I hold The hand of someone new The things I feel for him Have nothing to do with you That thought to some is strange They ask with disbelief If you really love someone You can?t be in-between But I just smile and know They don?t yet understand And maybe it?s not time It?s all in life?s great plan So I?ll sit here and I?ll think On these life truth?s I?ve found And love in special ways Without speaking a sound
