This is just a temporary page until I finish my render section of my website. I'm fairly new to the whole 3D art scene, and digital art. I've had 3D Studio Max for a few years, but never really got into it until recently. Consider me a newb with maybe a month of experience with Max and about 1 week experience with Poser. BTW, this image I'm uploading or whatever, isn't mine, it's more like my goal in talent or ability.

You could have given a few more segments to the 'Lathe' of the two up-right circular items, because we can see that they are not quite smooth. The attenuation on the 'glow' could also be adjusted. Otherwise, it's not bad.

The smoothing on the lathed objects was intentional. They are representative of old, imperfect metal-worked objects. This scene is taken pretty much from what I imagine an AD&D mage's table would look like, a clean mage. It's not perfect, but I wanted to focus on some new scenes that I may actually use. If I find the time I'll come back to this one and fix it.

personally, these are the kind of things, I leave for the background of a more interesting piece. that way it looks more elaborate.
