This photo was taken in 1968, in Iran, near the town of Maku, just across the border with Turkey. I was on my way East, a three-and-a-half months travel which ended in Kathmandu, Nepal. I was hitchhiking with a companion from Brighton, England, whom I met in Munich, Germany. I am sitting on the hood of this Mercedes, that would take us to Teheran. From there I travelled by any means available through Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Nepal.
I live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and I run a small literary publishing firm.

Very nice photo George. The night time version you posted yesterday is quite a contrast to this daytime picture. You are very fortunate to have visited this part of the world.
