Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

I love clouds, im so fascinated by them. And the ones youve shown us both today and yesterday are a really joy to my eyes. Amazing capture my friend. And also very fascinating to read about them, thank you for that piece of education. Have a great sunday. #:O)

love this dark blue!and the clouds......

This is even better! I like the way the Foehn clouds are framed by the dark clouds! The Foehn clouds looke like slivers!! Great shot!

I like the pinks and the golds in the clouds locally that hints at ice crystals in early Spring and late Fall. One laughs at the idea of monochromatic light from a laser scattering to form a spectrum yet it came from a quantum phenomena.

i'm kinda confused about your explanation, Jan-Carel. i think maybe i'm still too sleepy. i don't understand about the irridescent colors. i don't see any irridescent colors. were you saying the irridenscent colors were breaking down here? sorry for my confusion. i didn't sleep much last night and coffee is just not waking me up. Anyway...about the image...it's quite dramatic and powerful...almost looks like an explosion in the sky. some of those little clouds look to be shaped liked airplanes or sharks. this particular image comes across as ominous. i think there's a bad storm brewing! very moody capture!!! nicely done!

Wow... very impressive clouds here. Clouds always look a bit dramatic. That is why I like them.. they seem to tell a story.. The clouds BTW are beautifully captured by you.

Aww poor Sheila can't see the colors.. I can see many colors here Jan-Carel and they are quite amazing!! I have never noticed colors like this in any clouds before but maybe I was too far from them and the conditions were not right. I see a lot of pink and I see blue and an orangish gold. Beautiful and very educational! I love coming here and learning new things!! Thank You!! :-)
