An avid photographer; artist in acrylics, pen & inks, pencil; sculpter in clay; computer graphics & photo-manipulation; (totaly adicted) Love looking at the works of other artists & especialy artists on this site.BIOHave been painting & drawing since the year dot, sold my first work at age nine, (Christmas cards) haven't sold much since. Have owned a camera since age fifteen and been taking photos ever since, mostly of the "snap shot" type but I also have a large collection of excellent nature photos, (macros, flowers & gardens, frogs, birds & the occasional snake) I'm an "elderly" (in body only) grandmother, living in paradise (Cairns Australia) with a husband and a dog. (plus any number of frogs, gheckos, lizards, birds, butterflies and the occasional snake) What else can I say? I'm young at heart and refuse to believe that the person in the mirror has anything to do with the person who is "Me" ***UPDATE*** April 12 05. I'd like to add a bit about my qualifications as a critic. While I'm still (& always will be) a student, I have also been an art teacher for over twenty years, I have been an active member of several Art Societies & Photograpgic Societies, a Gallery Director/Art Buyer for a private gallery, owner and manager of my own gallery, selector and pre-selector for an annual art prize. (often valued at over Au$20,000.) That should be enough to be going on with. I'm often facetious, not often serious and occassionly suffer with foot-in-mouth desease. (All of which I feel I'm entitled to having survived 66 years so far) ;-) Leonie.

My godness!!! Where do you live, to have such exotic birds in your garden!!! I totally disagree with yesetis3, i think this is indeed a beautiful capture...but i would actually like some more contrast to it. Prevent it from looking a little washed out. Have a great evening..day...whatever, lol. #:O)

I just realised, he's a she! North Australia, presently hot and steamy. These lorikeets visit whenever we have nectar flowers blooming, they're very noisy actually and dont often come close enough for me to photograph, I was lucky. The photo's actually untouched, I guess I should have taken a bit of time to 'tidy' it up a bit. Glad to see people enjoying it :-) Leonie.
