Description
Another progress render. Some additional work to the masks includes showing some more tree-lined sections of creeks/rivers, and increasing the "detection" of isolated trees and open woodland. The "green" grass layer is more visible, but hasn't really changed in distribution in this part of the terrain (I'm working on the grassy areas of dry lake beds (Lake Lonsdale and Rocklands Res.) Back to the drawing board now for some testing of overlay transparency and surface appearance to polish up the grassy areas. No post processing other than resizing and sharpening.

Awesome, beautiful and excellent work.

I like the progress you are making. Shows how much work goes into a render like this.

Excellent image. I read your post in the TG digest... this is something that bugs me about TG... the errant pixels and artefacts you get such as your leaning tower in top left. Also, I still think that the clouds near the horizon never come out realistic enough. Still, an excellent image and well done with the overlay.

again agree with Saurav! :D

WOW this is brilliant!!!

A very interesting attempt. Maybe you could try to add a medium sized town near a river. Small elevations with a rusty redish color could indicate the roofs. Can't wait to see it progressing.

Very nice experiment, finely done.

To be fair about errant pixels... this was either a) my fault or b) a problem with the data. The fault was in the GEOTIFF file I produced to generate the terrain. I've thought about trying to include towns in some way but at the moment I can't get TG to use any more RAM for loading the masks (currently uses 1.2Gb)
