Description

Ultrafractal 3.02 - finished in UF 4.01 Well "Fred's wife" blew pretty strong - cat-1 levels here around 75mph with some BIG gusts - but we made it thru ok. No damage, trees ok. It was stronger than I'd expected from all the weather news this week. We didn't board up the windows this time. It strengthened when it went offshore and swept up offshore of us. Had to go out in the middle of it and add a 3' stake and 1/2" rope to the NW of my favorite tree - a loquat - because I hadn't anticipated one of the directions the wind came from. Northwest. THAT was hairy! I just planned for the "front side" of the storm. We bought a big generator to power the house and I'd made a big, 30A, cable to plug it into the dryer outlet so we'd be able to flush toilets, run fans and fridge and occasionally heat shower water but the power never went out this time - COOL! I was worried I'd burn the house down - lol. I guess it's due to all the new power poles and wiring they had to put up last year. I feel so sad for all the Floridians to the south of us. We all really got suckered into this one - they kept saying it was going to wimp out a good bit because of the cold front and that's why, probably, so many stayed put. Pray the insurance companies live up to their contracts and they all get their homes back. Anyhow, here's another of my "brownies", hope y'all enjoy it! Thanks for stopping by! Rick :-?) ------------------------------------------------- EDIT 2/5/09: Whoa! Check it out - this piece won FIRST PLACE (tie)in the 2009 annual Museum of Computer Art (MOCA) international digital art contest and exhibition at their gallery in New York City. The "Donnie" award. I'm absolutely floored!! ------------------------------------------------ ***(Fine art giclee' prints of most of my work are available in limited edition on archival paper or canvas - e-mail: drahcir3@hotmail.com and get busy filling that empty spot on the wall! Unique, "one-of-a-kind" (edition size = 1) prints are also available*** :-)

My prospective daughter-in-law, who's Italian and called Wilma - came to visit for the first time this weekend. Believe me, you were better off with the Wilma you had!! She's terrifying! Great fractal, as ever.

Glad "Fred's wife" left you unscathed, Rick. Whoa! I've never been in winds even near that strong. My prayers are with All who have been so adversely affected by the hurricanes. Your composition is just plain awesome! I love the interesting forms, great colors and cool textures..and how it all flows so beautifully. Outstanding artwork, as always.

An interesting fractal. Looks like a tipped over basket and some old trinkets here on the table. Glad you guys survived Wilma. You couldn't get me to live down there. I'll hide in my root cellar if a tornado comes, but don't think I'd be very good with the water stuff.

In the Netherlands there was just before WW II a school of painters, 'magic realists'. Your work reminds me to them, but yor work has more warmth in it. I love it very much, it's excellent.
