When I first saw this, I saw the defiance of the sphere against the cubes in some undefined manner. But I was puzzled by the pattern on the floor. I saw the shadows cast by the sphere and the cubes. And I presumed that the pattern was light coming in between the cubes, but then I saw that it did not fit, and in fact went beneath the shadows. "What is that?", I thought. "It looks kinda like light coming through a row of windows." And then it all fit together for me. "This is about Rosa Parks!" And I realized that before I consciously recognized that the sphere is black, the cubes are white, the pattern looks like light coming in through a bus window. And also before I read your words below. Sooo... your symbolic abstraction WORKS!
