Very nice atmosphere! The strata seems a little too regular to me, and also the layer could use just a tiny bit of bump. The sand looks a little strange, maybe a smaller scale value? Awesome terrain and water though!

The strata blends well with the terrain since you have used some verticle layer coverage. The colors are perfect. The sky, lighting and atmo were meant for this terrain.

Beautifully done Steve. The sand has an impression of the rain having fallen and it's quite wet... Excellent work.

As I type this my computer is rendering a desert scene (taking forever). This is outstanding. I like how the sand is piling up against the rock. The foreground is great too. Thumbs up!

Hey Steve! The foreground almost has a mojo look. Personally I like your smooth powder sand and the course highlights/Gravel. The lighting and sky are top shelf! As is the POV. Mighty Fine Creation! Huzzah!!

Great play of light and shadow, and I like your bit o' cloud. A very cool terrain and excellent surfaces, including the subtle and realistic strata. Outstanding render, Steve.

This is only "messing about?!" Boy, then I surely wish my own "messing abouts" would come out so wonderfully! Bravo!
