Description

Saw some composite images at NASA and thought "you know what would be neat?"... But then they had the same images at their site which weren't composited - so I did the compositing which I was thinking of. I made a yin-yang symbol of it. The yin-yang is an interesting symbol when you think about it. It represents a concept of nature which ties into science as well as the eastern philosophy. Two opposites that compliment each other. Without one, there can't be the other. No north without the south, no good without the evil, no positive without the negative, etc. It could also represent a pairing of charges with quantum spin. Or perhaps a double helix if observed end-on. There's even an microwave spectrum map of the known universe that has a thermal shift which resembles it... Funny what people knew without knowing... The NASA images used are available at sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov. NASA is usually cool about letting others use their stuff, just as long as you let others know where the originals came from. You can find out their policy on image use at http://www.nasa.gov/audience/formedia/features/MP_Photo_Guidelines.html
