Description

It's a real door! Lovingly scarred - and slathered. In processing, I wanted to remove modern signs and locks, but tried to retain the scarring and slathering. -*- Started with a Nikon D70 photo, heavily processed and cropped, mapped onto a terrain object (with separate height info), assembled, lit with soft spotlights and rendered with Bryce. -*- Thanks for looking in!

Oh your my kinda artist Jim!! Got the D50 recently, LOVE IT! The fact that you did this with terrains and bump maps! My kinda artist! That's how I did my Endust piece! This looks fantastic!! Wonderful blend of techniques, masterful results!! Now I suppose if I go back to your website, I can open it? See what's on the other side? ; ) Excellent job!!!

Thanks, DigiMon. Sorry but my website's feeling down this week, :-( I'm wondering ... it's in Florida ... so perhaps they were obliterated! No big deal but hope not, cross your fingers and toes. When it's back up I'll post an animated mechanism!

Beautifully composed, textured & lit. Evokes the feel of a classic horror film...

Very nice image, and usage of terrains with images. Although the door is the focus, what about making the floor a terrain too? Its the only thing in the render that is flat. But very nice render, dont get me wrong.

Cool work, the only things keeping this from total greatness are the flat-looking floor and the lighting. Seagram is wise, a floor terrain that works with the texture would be killer. And as for the lighting, the only thing I would change is to make the shadows softer, it would add to the realism if they weren't so hard. Great image!
