Description

Today a little tiny black sheep! His name is "Kody". (thanks to mcv who started to call me in that way ^___^ Mike, u gave me the idea for the name of this puppy!! ^_^) I just played with DAZ3D Toonimal Lamb and his expansion set (Soft & Fleecy for Toonimal Lamb). Then i tried to create a really soft effect with displacement maps. No postwork on the image (except my name added with photoshop^_^)

Very nicely done. Displacement maps can be a curse or a blessing, depends on your success with them. Looks good though!

I think he likes the camera, is that a wink I just saw? ;-) Really nice fur texture effect, gonna want a mini-tutorial on the settings you used so we can all get this good a render! Kody . . . LOL . . . amazing what can come from 2-fingered typeing and a bit of laziness in IM messages. Kody sure looks like a nice pet, can just image him jumping through a field with sun, flowers, and butterflies. ( Can you guess I had to scrape ice off my windsheild yesterday? ) Kodewarrior1, this is Excellent displacement work in a cute and fun render!

Nice displacement effect did you mix some bump Strength with it? Still thinking on your comments about a tutorial. Think the idea should do some more way in my mind but Jacques

Thank u guys! Jacques, u're right: i used also the bump effect (but if i've to teel u the truth, this effect was loaded with the MAT... i didn't changed it) Mike, if u got the 2 Daz items mentioned above, just set the "black lamb" texture, then set the displacement map strenght to 100% with the LB_TLamb_Black_Bum and set the Positive strenght to 1.00 (if i remember well). Also i used a distant light with the 200% of strenght

Really good job on the wool. The displacement mapping seems to work fine. I didn't know you could get an effect like that without using an edge blend node (yet another node they don't have in D|S)

la morocha, i don't know about the edge blend node, cause i don't have poser or other 3d programs like Vue o 3DSMax. Surely D|S needs a lot of more feature to be a really complete software, but i'm not a 3D professionist and i think it's ok for me ^_^ Thanks to u and to Lettuce for ur comments ^^

Kody is such a cute sheep I love him. However I am a sucker for that name my oldest boy is called Cody. The texture of making him furry is genious like and the eyes just makes you want to hold him....excellent work...VOTE..shanpoo ;}
