Description

This image uses PeterChov's lovely turtles, my tower Made in Wings and Bryce, grass from... Bryce's Vegetation section. Fish... um, I don't have my laptop running, so I can't remember where I got those from, but if anyone knows let me know. Boat from Bryce's freebies, can't recall name just now, but it's called "Boat with Hull for Water". Used soft shadows for this - took over 2 days to render. Dunno if it's better with soft shadows or without.

Beautiful scene, but your turtle on the left is too shiney.

Correct. The turtle on the left dosnt look underwater at all, but I really like the POV and the composition. Very well done. One thing: Try to add a few bubbles here and there to give it more of a realism to it. Either way its very owesome, very well done and well composed.

Aye, no shine on the left turtle, and more smoothing/subdivision and proper texture assignment on the both as well as I mentioned elsewhere ;] But I also agree the over-all scene is nice (good work on the tower again). Another thing though is the ground-fog.. I mostly used distance fog for my SMC pics (unless "camera" was above surface, like turtle boat pic), not too important which you use I guess.. but I'd definitely make it more gradual at least, that far-right hill gets really chopped off very suddenly, would prefer to see a more gradual fade-out. And if can do so, the grass could stand to be smoothed more as well so not so jagged. No need to change that stuff now if you don't wanna re-do it (can't blame you, with the 2 day render time and all), but helpful crits to keep in mind in the future perhaps. Anyhow glitches aside, nice work, keep it up :]

Nice I like the tower. A two day render!!!Argh I would have stopped it and changed something. Softshadows are nice. I usually perfer them and they work well here.Often I go for hard shadows whenever I have any sort of volume material because of the render times. Rays of light are great too.
