K' you asked for it. First thing, is you would want to use transparency mapping to break up the solid outline of the trees. If you are using a procedural to texture the foliage then copy and past that layer into the transparency channel. Then experiment with the different settings to make the trees look les like solid objects. 2. Use a volumetric Spot light for lighting up the eyes and mouth in the pumpkin head. First make the head double sided. Stick a spot light inside the head, widen the cone angle up so that it covers both eyes and mouth. Set the volumetric settings for the spot light to match, make the color of light yellow with a +50 or so Red shift for the volumetric. Test render and adjust the various volumetric settings to get the effect you are looking for. Darken the sky by going into night mode in sky tracer. Use a couple of area lights to fill in the objects like the house fence and pathway. Use a low illumination factor on the area lights. Start say with 10% and go from there. Use luminosity, to illuminate the Pumpkin guy more than lights, light only to maintain some detail. Hope this starts you off. good luck

Nicely done... I think pnevai has pointed you in the right direction with lighting, would be nice to see more detailed models with better textures while you're at it. :o) Keep on posting!
