Description

This was a buzzy hive throughout the Summer; but now, it's settled down a bunch. I've been meaning to get a picture of this for a long time; and thought I'd better do it now; or I'll never get to it. Thanks for stopping by and for your comments and votes.Did you see I made this week in pictures again? :) Second time for me...!! Its such an honor and great pat on the back ... thank you all for everything; and for your continued support and encouragement .. and thank you RR for being here. Group hugs, Shari

LMAO @ your title!!! Thats a big hive!!! We had one on the addict..addic...adick...sigh..right above the bedroom. And one night i woke up and i had 10 waspers on my pillow...disoriented by the cold. It was almost winter. So i climbed up to the...room...under the roof...yikes i gotta get my dictionary...and i saw this tiny hive right above my head. But just as i was about to remove it my eyes wandered further into the room and i could see where all the buzz came from. There it was...HUGEST HIVE EVER!!! The size of 2 basketballs!!! So i called the exterminator who came...and left just as quick. He said he didnt dare go up there, that it had to be 50000 wasps there. He suggested we waited till winter and then when they were all hibernated he would take it down then. So for the next month i had to sleep on the livingroom floor, cause it kept dropping down wasps onto the bed from all the "branch-holes" in the wooden ceiling. I can only imagine how many typos this looooong comment has...sigh. Anway, lovely shot Shari!!! Yeah yeah, we did see that you made LWiTG again...SHOWOFF!!! LOL. Have a Happy Halloween and i apologize for taking up sooooo much space with this mega-comment of mine. #:O)

Nice shot--we have a similar hive on our crab apple tree here in Duluth (Minnesota). I am waiting for a couple of hard frosts (want to be sure the wasps are dead--we still have flowers in the garden) before bringing the hive into the house and cutting it open.

Wonderful find of this hive, if it buzzes there might still be some buzzer renting it but soon it will be empty anyway! :) Excellent work, Shari, very original!

LOL!!! Yup. that too is corny! But I love it! Any takers? This hive looks SO empty and cold and ready for winter. My comment won't be as long as Zacko's - but I can spell attic....heh heh. :0)

Does it come with cable tv?..Shari, this is really a great pic. You feel the sense that winter is just around the corner...the bees probably bought tickets to Florida for the winter...LOL..
