Description

Thanks to "Rochr" and "Orbital" for a major source of inspiration. Fairly new to the whole 3D thing (about a year in my spare time) so this is my first Renderosity upload. Mainly due to the fact that this is the first render that I am kind of happy with. Modelled and rendered in Bryce5.5 - post in PS CS. Feel free to comment. (good or Bad). Happy rendering.

I like everything you modeled - I don't get the particle things coming off the main machine but you did yourself proud!

Thanks fenixcats for the comment. The particles are energy from it's "brain"at the back - electricity really.

You do very impressive work, esp. considering the short time you've been at this!! I really like the way you use the reflection of the impending human victim rather than showing the victim herself, to imply a "third dimension". Looks like you have the "gestalt" theory of art down already. Excellent modeling too.

I really like it, but I'm sure the girls reflection should be more distorted. Did you try the convex reflection and find she looked upside down? :)

Yeah, Rochr is amazing and he's inspired me many times (although I seem to fail on the execution). Great work and I really like the effect of her reflection in the lens. Bet there's a story there waiting to be told. Can't wait to read the book. :)

Top 20 for your first post, EXCELLENT! Love the red color in this, it is a nice contrast with the blue in the sky. Nice modeling!

Thanks for the comments everyone. Really appreciate it. When I say this is my first upload to Renderosity, I don't mean it is my first render I have done. It is the first render that I am happy with so I posted it. I have done a few but somehow could not get them exactly right. It doesn't always happen and can be pretty frustrating. Got to just keep going and take the time to get it right. Later all.

If you had do it in your "spare time", you can be very proud of you, as a "first timer". There is some people on Renderosity that use 3d progs for years and the level is always the same (low). BRAVO!
