Description
I'm not sure if fungus (fungi?) actually attempts to fit into the whole scene during the fall colour change... but this bunch seems to have morphed into something at least a little bit interesting. It appears that they have taken an acorn hostage... pushing the poor, innocent nut ahead... into the line of fire... and hiding behind it. If that's the case, they should all be varying shades of yellow... ;)

The fall colors are a great background for this already fantastic shot.

Nice colors on the fungus, very unusual. Maybe squirrels like to eat these wild treats so the acorn has to be the sacrificial nut. Great colors and a nice day for a walk!

Great find, always did like the earthy color schemes, especialy this time of year. I think you've inspired me to take a walk through the trails and down to the beach today. we'll be all but snowbound before long. And then we'll only have your photos to remind us. :)
