Description
Another visitor to my bird feeder, this time a fairly common Zebra Dove. These birds usually are ground feeders preferring to eat the seeds that have fallen from the feeder. This one was sizing up the feeder, but was too big to land and try to eat from it. These species are abundant here in the islands introduced from South East Asia. These are the tamest birds you will come across and are quite accustomed to eating out of your hand after some coxing.

Oh she is just beautiful! Gorgeous photo too! Doves are my favorite backyard visitors but the mourning doves we get here are very shy.

I have never seen such a beautiful Dove. Can't believe the clarity in the foreground. The colors are in perfect harmony.
