Description
As a member of the International Park Bench Straighteners Society, I was appalled to see this bench in Death Valley! Oh the very thought of the back wrenching experience of sitting on this bench had me in an uproar. I went straight to the ranger station and demanded to see whoever was in charge. After several minutes of heated debate, with someone who obiviously never sat on this particular bench, I managed to pursuade the ranger to sit on the bench during a full sunset (20 - 30 minutes or more)! After the sunset had well concluded I approached the ranger and asked his opinion. "well...." he said rather slowly, "I think you may have something here. I will definetly be looking into this further, thank you for bringing it to my attention!.........And one more thing...... could you please give me a hand standing up...I seem to be a little stiff".
I watched him as he shuffled back down the pathway...slightly bent over...with his hand on his back! I was satisified that I had made my point!

I loved your little story there Kim, you seem to be a very passionate member of I.P.B.S.S, carrying their their propaganda throughout the globe. And even though it pleased me much, reading about your adventures....i still think the photo is even more spectacular. Its minimalistic and its gorgeous. Absolutely perfect photography Kim. well, I have a habit of leaning to the left in my office chair (the chair leans left) and one inspector in particular always tells me to "Sit Up Straight" so actually this bench would help me sit up straight to watch the sunset, which is a fine example of cloud cover in action...exit stage left...
