Description

While I was out driving taking pictures of the birds and the fall foliage I ran across this crumbling chimney. A lot of the fall colors had not got to this shady spot yet. As always all views and comments are appreicated. Hugs Susan ~

A wonderful capture. It is fascinating, and a little sad, how only the fireplaces and chimneys remain, a kind of monument to the life that was once there. Lovely shot. :o) CC

OOh had this been around here, a crumbling chimney meant a foundation somewhere that may have had an old dump located nearby.. and that meant wonderful bottle hunting grounds. That's a very beautiful image and you have a wonderful eye for beauty.

Fascinating contrast between the red brick and stone.. must be a story there all in itself. (maybe a lesson.. can't rebuild a chimney top-down..lol) Wonder if any stockings where ever hung at it's base? Cool pic Susan. Am also glad to hear your Chemo is finished and let us know if the treatment worked and your out of the woods yet.. we will all breath a huge sigh of great relief if this is the case! Huggles and vote to a super lady.. Dave :^)

I see alot of these standing after the house burns to the ground. A monument to the lives that once occupied this place. A little sad.

Now this takes me back to my old Kentucky home. It always fascinated me, coming across a plot like this where Nature had reclaimed Her own. These chimneys seem to be more prevalent in the Bluegrass State than elsewhere. Anyway, a fantastic capture!
