Description

Ok this one is modeled long time ago, i used textures from DeEspona's model of the same bug, since it was an initial inspiration for modeling this, i thought it would be nice to use same textures. So thats it. Hope you like it. Cheers.

Wow, great work. You know, in Japan, they have contests. They see which kind of beetle is the strongest and smartest. Nice creation. Aloha

looking good...two crits tho...first one...the bug is transparent??? you can see through his horn and his legs where they over lap at the joint...second...how are you doing the ground plane? i think image would be a lot stronger if there was some interaction between the bug and the sand...b/c i think his feet beeing that small would definately sink in some...since it is a simple scene you need to nail the little things to sell it...anyway...looks nice so far...

Makes me want to render a big ass can of RAID. Add a couple of ants or other bugs for scale, or even a few blades of grass - anything really... Beautiful job!

This is a rhinoceros beetle of the order Coleoptera. True "bugs" are of the order Hemiptera, and, among other things, are rcognized by a softer shell and an X pattern where the wings meet and fold across the back, ass opposed to Coleoptera's [usually] hard shell. But that's beside the point; this model looks great. :)

Great. Scale looks off, though. . .makes it look like its size of a car. . .part of that is ambient occlusion--- because bugs are small, they're very close to ground, hence block a lot more light than things with a large scale
