BIO
My name is Tim Jones. I am currently working at Digital Domain in Venice, CA as a Senior Digital Artist.  Before that I was a CG Supervisor at Blur Studio for 5 years. I graduated in May 2002 with a BS degree in Architecture and a BFA in Illustration. I have a strong background in traditional art. I began taking art lessons at the age of 7. I began teaching myself 3d in 1998. My father taught me how to extrude, lathe and change the UCS in AutoCAD and I was on my way. I created my first rendering with my dads copy of Raydream. A friend at school soon after introduced me to Truespace 2 which I fell in love with. I became obsessed with 3d and spent nearly every free moment teaching myself how to create anything and everything in 3d. I quickly outgrew Truespace 2 and its limited features. That same friend introduced me to 3d studio max 2.5 and I have never looked back. I still use Max as my program of choice.

Nice, it has got a really nice soft feel to the render. Lots of detail aswell, very nice.

Very nice job with the classical arcitectural designs, and fantastic detail with the triglyphs and metopies. I'm not sure if thats how you wanted it, but some nice marble textures could really help add to the realism. Keep It Up! =DBZ=

Wonderful, detailed work! Love it... Congrats!
Odin
wow. looks allmost as good as my slayer...lol. I love the soft shadows, but it looks to clean...not a scratch...
gremil
La construcci es realista, la perspectiva no tanto(observa toda la parte izquierda). Es agua, pero el reflejo sobre ella debiera ser un poco m azul, ya que el cielo es de un azul muy claro.

VERY clean and smooth... ooh fun with GI :)

WOW! damn. this is nice. I dont think marble textures would add more realism since romans used alot of polished limestone in their buildings. so this is very realistic. you could add more shadow and darken it a bit.

I do love this! wonderful work, I agree a few more shadows would work well but as is Hat's off!

Very Well done! Its very clear and real! Imagine if through the arch you could see not only the water and secondary structure but whatever is at the end! Could this passage lead to a view of the countryside? I like it!

Phenomenal modeling. I love the whole thing. Great render!!

The sky is brillant. you did that from scratch? -Very impressive. I could agree with gremil though that the water reflection should be more of the sky color. Of course people would say that the stone should be more brocken, more rough or more dirty, but I really like it prefectly white like that. If we have the power to create virtual reality, why should we give it all the defects of the real world?

The stone texture is brilliant, I could almost feel its cold smooth touch, well done.

Lighting is great. Maybe it needs some textures and a haze in a distance to add depth in the scene. My rate: 9.5

Great modelling and lighting - what type of lighting strategy are you using? Also, perhaps a mosaic in each of the square insets would be appropriate?

This is it!!!

I love it! The water in the background is a very nice touch. I'd love to see a verion of this with sharper, more specular shadows, since the sky background shows us it isn't an especially overcast day. I think lighting the scene with bright sunlight, and increased contrast might add more interest and realism to the shot. Good work!
