Inside the underground lab, Jin and Ruiz had sat on the tilted part of the interior wall to save their breath. 518 being a Scav meant, he didn't have to worry about carbon dioxide. 518 wondered where Toxic had gotten to. She was just to swim out and try the keypad, and then return. He worried more than he wanted to. The sceam was thin and distant, but the effect on him was electric. He turned toward Jin and gasped out, "She's in trouble! She needs me!" He hit the water cleanly and swam for his life under the door in the toxic water and into the mouth of hell. On the lander, Ivor was crowing at the success of his mission until the lander rocked under a tremendous impact. The brilliantly colored Leviathan had leaped out of the water and had barely hit the underside of the lander. Ivor saw out of the front windows of the lander the huge winged mass of the River King rise to the surface. The huge River King roared as he shook river water off him with a spray of algae laden green. Seeing the twelve story tall monster, Ivor panicked and ordered the Collector robots, "Go straight to the city! Return to Nova Paradisio! Do not bring the girl HERE!" The robots signalled compliance and headed for the Flying city. 518 watched the lander turn it's pulse-cannons on the Leviathan, as 518 swam on. He could see Narchi's APC up ahead. The Leviathan thrashed around from the hits and sank below the surface. The River King grew enraged, watching his mate in pain. The Robots turned toward Trashtown and gained altitude to fly over it towards the Flying city beyond it. They lead the River King after them, headless of the people in his way. Ivor sweated at the fate he seemed to have avoided. The legend of the River King had reached Flying City 64 and held all in a deep terror. He would learn first hand of it, one day.
