I really like the posing of the horse and rider. The standing figure looks like a leg is broken.{g} The effects around the sword are striking, but a little diffuse - most of the time I've seen magical effects drawn, the parts closest to the item had the densest effects - glow, lightning, plasma, whatever. Great 'seat' on the rider.
