Description
Sorry folks, I really apologize for posting this a second time, but the update is so much better than the first one. I put a lot of work in the tree barks and think that they have now improved considerably. Still I'm learning this technique so I'm really interested in your honest opinions.
comments & critics are highly appreciated!

Please take this in the constructive manner it is meant..I still struggle with the same issue...horizontal bands on trees. When a tree grows, it's skin expands, you can literally see the "Stretch marks", which are always vertical. I have been trying to develop a repeatable bark texture, but I am not happy with the results yet. That having been said, I think blurring them doesn't always help. If you are doing this post stuff in PS, try isolating branches at certain angles, and doing a slight motion blur matched to that angle? I am sorry, I don't have the answers, but I recognize the problem, because I struggle with it too. As a result, I usually leave trees out of my pieces. None of this changes the fact that this is an awesome piece! The composition, lighting and elements are wonderful!!!

If you google bark of a paper birch, it peels easily in horizontal sheets that reveal its copper-colored inner, and in fact, I have made quite a few bark art pieces, so I think you are coming along quite fine learning... and don't give up.

I think you are doing wonderful work! tree barks are difficult indeed..but it is all so wonderful to learn and eventually we all get better at what we do..the fact that you are 'doing' is what is so very important...keep it up...love this! ::)

I thought the first one was PERFECT! There is NO correct way in art. Its all in what your eye sees! Brilliant work!!

Wonderful soft look that creates such a mystical mood! Love the twisted, knarled trees and that bark is looking awfully good! Excellent work!

Please take this as a constructive comment. I also think that the first one was better. It seems that the bark on the trees is a bit too vivid, maybe you tried a bit too hard and the picture lost some of its balance. Sometimes if we struggle a little too hard on one thing, the artwork loses some of its atmosphere or soul. :) I always look forward to seeing your creations.
