Description

Hi Guys! I went on this really cool little hike with my dogs to day. This is actually really close to town, but always reminded me of a hidden valley. During some summers I work at the Mammoth Lakes Pack Station. as an asst. cook. MLPS was built in 1917 and was the first one in the Mammoth area. For those who are wondering what I am talking about, it is a 'Horse' pack station. You can do hourly or daily rides or take trips into the backcountry, it's a really cool place if you like being around horses! Like me. At the end of the season we have this crazy wild ride that comes pouring over the back of that canyon, and thunders into that peaceful looking meadow, you see there. About 50 riders, racing! It is quite the experience and I am lucky to have lived through it the few times I have done it. It all ends up at a local restaurant and bar, and we have dinner and party. One year it got so wild, that the girl wranglers were taking of there bras and throwing them on the hanging chandaliers!! Anyway, This morning all was quiet in this little valley, but try to invision this wild site! Thanks to all for your awesome comments on my last post 'Seasons End' So glad you liked it!

Wow, I thought these things happened only in movies like Back to the future! Glad not to have to be around while the race would take away the silence, although participating in such a race might be quite a thrilling experience! :) Excellent capture of this inviting landscape, it's verrrry beautiful!

I love the way the dog is looking towards there with that "Where's the horses, when are they coming" look! LOL :P I always think of that area as Hidden Lake, but it's not really a lake either! Soon it will be Not so hidden condos and million dollar homes, YUCK!
